“LIFE UNEDITED” Poetry Books
Forward by Raymond Whyte
Jacqueline and I were discussing her poetry books, we were trying to figure out the best way to get them to people who will appreciate the read and the spirit contained within.
“You need a forward, you know, a brief history of your background so people can get a closer feel for your writing” I said.
“Well who knows you better than I do? It will be our 46th anniversary this year” I said.
So here goes, 46 years in the next few paragraphs….
We met at work, and as the old saying goes, it was love at first sight (at least for me, she needed a little coaxing). That was in 1971. We have 2 boys and a girl. They are grown now and our pride and joy. One of our sons was taken to be with the Lord in a terrible car accident. He did not survive, being crushed in the womb just 2 weeks before his birth. This devastated us as you can imagine but Jacquie’s faith pulled us both through this very dark time. You know, the way you would pull a stuck 4 x 4 out of the mud with another 4 x 4 that is on firmer ground and steadfast in its strength and direction. This is a funny analogy but as an outdoors man the picture it paints is very clear. She was my rescue
4 x 4.
It was her faith that later in life made me realize it was time for me to get off the fence I was sitting on. Her belief and devotion to her God showed me I needed this faith as well. I was always afraid I would be missing out on something if I gave my life to the Lord. Little did I realize it was just the opposite. It was like walking into a familiar darkened room and not realizing that by turning on the light, now I could see what I had never seen before.
Jacquie is not a saint, even though I think she is. She has struggled with bi-polar disorder, you know, with mood swings from deep depression to euphoria. As well as struggling with many other health problems. I say this only to show how the Lord has carried her many times where her own strength would not.
He has blessed her with His words and through thick and thin, night and day, year after year, He is by her side.
The collections of poems are her prayers of thanks, her times of correction and direction, and her unceasing love and devotion to her Lord and Savior. They are her gift to you, and her reward is the blessing they may hold. She gives up all glory to the LORD.
I love you Jacqueline
Since I was a very young girl I have had the love of God in my heart. I have struggled all my life trying to find a comfort zone in my spiritual life. Well, after a very long time, many trials, tribulations and blessings, I have realized that the comfort zone God has for us is when we are finally in his presence. In the mean time life is what happens and we must learn from it.
The Lord has blessed me with the gift of writing. Sometimes I get a thought or idea and ponder over my note pad for days. But at other times I awake in the middle of the night and through bleary eyes write God’s words down as fast as He dictates them to me. I still marvel at this special time with my creator.
These writings are from your creator, I am just His very blessed servant.
